The simplest way to cook broccoli in the oven (which also happens to deliver the biggest flavor bang for your convenience buck).

1 pound broccoli florets
1/3 cup olive oil
3/4 teaspoon coarse salt
1/3 teaspoon ground black pepper
1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees with the rack in the middle position. In a medium bowl, toss the broccoli, olive oil, salt and pepper together to combine.
2. Transfer the broccoli to a roasting pan and slide it into the oven. Roast for 15-30 minutes, turning and tossing the broccoli every 10 minutes or so, allowing them to brown evenly on all sides. Broccoli is done when easily pierced with a fork.
Cooking time will vary depending on the size of your florets.
