It’s a Screaming Latke Party!
THIS SUNDAY we’re celebrating the first night of Hanukkah, and you’re invited! Adventure Kitchen founder (and huge Lemony Snicket fan) Lynley Jones will be reading The Latke Who Couldn’t Stop Screaming by Lemony Snicket. Plus, our Spice Bar will be transformed into a Latke Bar with free latkes, toppings and mulled apple cider. Local singer-songwriter Steve Gelsi will be playing Hanukkah songs on the guitar, and we’ll end by lighting our menorah.
It’s all happening at the Adventure Kitchen Holiday Shop, where there’s always something spicy going on. You’ll find us right in the window of the historic Hampton House building in downtown Montclair through the end of December, as part of the Artisans Gallery Pop Up. You can stock up on spices, pick out some gifts, and find something interesting in our Curious Cook’s Bookshop.
Let us know so we can make enough latkes!
The Latke Who Couldn’t Stop Screaming is the story of an exasperated little latke making his way through a Christmas-oriented world. It’s written by Lemony Snicket, who also wrote A Series of Unfortunate Events, the book series that was the inspiration for our very own A Series of Unfortunate Recipes and Unfortunate Summer Camp.
The Pop Up market is a great shopping venue showcasing multiple local small businesses and artisans, with clothing, jewelry, crafts, and even a start-up bakery. Come for the spices, stay for the adventure.
