Real-Life Cooking Includes Some Real-Life Risks *
In Adventure Kitchen classes and events, we do real, hands-on cooking with real food and equipment, with children of all ages, in age-appropriate ways. Our classes and events may take place in an actual commercial kitchen, a home kitchen or an improvised kitchen we create in another space. We consider whatever space we're in to be a kitchen, and we take all reasonable precautions to guide the children through these experiences in safe, age-appropriate ways. There is always a risk of cuts, burns and other accidents in any kitchen. Learning to be safe in a real kitchen, and learning to safely navigate these real risks, is part of the Adventure Kitchen experience. If you are uncomfortable with this for any reason, we understand and will gladly refund your tuition if you'd prefer your child not participate.
We Expect the Best From Our Kids! *
In the Adventure Kitchen, we are honest and respectful, and expect all our kids to be as well. We will carefully explain all rules and expectations. Although this almost never happens, you should know that if for any reason your child is unable or unwilling to follow the rules, we may ask her/him to sit out for awhile while the rest of the class proceeds. And (although this has never happened yet), if there are repeated problems with an individual child that cannot be managed, we may contact the parents to request that the child leave the class (with a prorated refund of tuition). This helps all the kids enjoy the experience and keeps everyone safe. Please explain this to your child, and check the box to let us know you have.
