As Seen on NPR!

Based on the popular Lemony Snicket books and Netflix series and our very own Series of Unfortunate Recipes, we'll be exploring the true culinary history of the Baudelaire orphans by cooking and eating Pasta Puttanesca, Uncle Monty's Coconut Cream Cake, Esme Squalor's Salmon Puffs, Cheer-Up Cheeseburgers, (Not) Count Olaf's Raspberry Cupcakes, and much more.

Each day of this week-long camp we'll explore part of the series. We'll make and eat the foods inspired by the story, decipher secret messages, watch part of the Netflix series and avoid the evil clutches of a certain money-hungry villain.

Monday: Dinner with Count Olaf

We'll have make the very same recipe for Pasta Puttanesca that the Baudelaires found in Justice Strauss' library. We'll also make homemade Chocolate Pudding and Not-For-Olaf Raspberry Cupcakes.

Tuesday: Dinner with Uncle Monty

We'll make Potstickers and Chinese "take-out" food (made by us!), plus Coconut Cream Cake for dessert. Later, we'll go to the movies, and hopefully no one will be bit by the Incredibly Deadly Viper.

Wednesday: Lake Lachrymose Cooking School

Welcome to Lake Lachrymose Cooking School! Spend some time with your oven partner, trying to whistle with crackers in your mouth like Ike used to do. Make an Extra Fun Special Family Appetizer, Cheer-Up Cheeseburgers, (NOT) Aunt Josephine's Chilled Cucumber Soup and fruit galettes for dessert.

Thursday: Esme Squalor's D-IN-ner Party

Wear your pinstripe suits to camp for a d-IN-ner party where everything is in. We'll have Salmon Puffs and acqueous martinis, and we'll enforce good behavior with the disciplinary tactics of Prufrock Preparatory School (which may mean someone has to eat with their hands tied behind their back.)

Friday: Hector, Hospital Food and Hugo

Come to camp in disguise and make Hector's Chicken Enchiladas and Hugo's freakishly good Thai soup, Tom Kha Gai. Solve alphabet soup anagrams, create an alias and learn to make Emergency Peppermint Brittle in case you ever have to make a hasty escape from Count Olaf.

Adventure Kitchen camps are great for adventurous and not-so-adventurous eaters alike! Foodie kids will have much to pique their palates, but we never force or pressure kids to taste anything they don't want to try. No shame! Adventure Kitchen is all about joyful experiences with food as make new discoveries and connections. There is usually something for everyone as we have fun exploring the world of food around us.

Camp will be led by Lynley Jones, curious cook and local mom, and owner and creator of Adventure Kitchen. Lynley is certified in First Aid and CPR.

Lynley hand-picks camp counselors and assistants who love children and food! We are proud to pay a premium wage, and we only hire the best.

We'll post status and pics each day on social media, so parents can follow along:
